Weekend workshop with Mary Obendorfer and Eddy Marks

from 30.00

We are extremely pleased to be able to welcome back US teachers Mary Obendorfer and Eddy Marks who taught a very well received weekend workshop for us last year. This is a perfect opportunity to attend a workshop with two teachers who have a  worldwide reputation as transformational Iyengar yoga teachers.

Mary and Eddy are certified at the advanced level with a wealth of experience and the ability to convey BKS Iyengar ’s illuminated teachings with great clarity, insight and positive energy.

They co-direct the BKS Iyengar Yoga Center of San Diego which was established in 1979 and teach throughout the US and worldwide to share what they feel they were privileged to learn directly from the Iyengar family.

For decades they studied with the Iyengar family in India, living there for a year in 2003 and 7 months in 2009. They say that Guruji's original and transformative approach to yoga inspires them to guide students with clarity and precision working from the skin to the soul.

This weekend Asana and Pranayama workshop is for all yoga students who are keen to deepen their practice and understanding.

A summary of what will be covered over this weekend

Pranayama: Bhramari - based on Geetaji's progressive teachings of Bhramari over 30 years, we will be working sequentially through the different modes of Bhramari from beginning through intermediate and advanced.

Asana: Path of Light - in this class we will be illuminating Guruji's first, most important principle which led to more than 40 other principles to the myriad of points that we regularly practice. Knowing this foundational principal will do more than simplify, clarify and make easier your practice, it has the power to fundamentally revolutionise your practice and understanding for the better.

Asana: From Tamas to Rajas: the science of yoga in action - practice waking up and keeping healthy the outer hip joint and buttock region. Unlock unknown tightness and hardness in the hips and buttocks.

It is possible to book each day separately but preference will be given those attending the whole weekend.
