Weekend Workshop with Mary Obendorfer and Eddy Marks

We are extremely pleased to welcome back US teachers Mary Obendorfer and Eddy Marks who taught a very well received weekend workshop for us last year. This is a perfect opportunity to attend a workshop with two teachers who have a  world wide reputation as transformational Iyengar yoga teachers.

Mary and Eddy are certified at the Advanced level with a wealth of experience and the ability to convey BKS Iyengar’s  illuminated teachings with clarity, insight and positive energy. They teach throughout the US and worldwide to share what they feel they were privileged to learnt directly from the Iyengar family.

They studied with the Iyengar family in India for decades and say that Guruji's original and transformative approach to yoga inspires them to guide students with clarity and precision working from the skin to the soul.

This weekend Asana and Pranayama workshop is for all yoga students who are keen to deepen their Asana and Pranayama practice and understanding. They will be covering Iyengar foundational principles to help change your practice and understanding, keeping the hip region healthy and the progression of Bhramari Pranayama.

It is possible to book each day separately but we will try to give preference to those attending the whole weekend.

Getting to grips with basic yoga poses - a session for beginners

This session is for beginners to Iyengar yoga and aims to be both enjoyable and to help you learn how to get to grips with the basic yoga poses.

It is ideal if you have some experience of doing yoga and are keen to learn how to practice to progress.

The session is inspired by Geeta S Iyengar’s teaching about how beginners in yoga should start by creating mobility (dynamic practice) in the poses and then add stability.

She wrote:

“…when stability is present at the heart of our mobility, and mobility within our stability, […]we keep an inner balance…”

The session will be taught by Marion Sinclair - an experienced yoga teacher who also manages IYISL
