Sarvangasana
Inversions - primarily head and shoulder stand - are considered key poses in yoga practice. There are many advantages to performing inversions regularly; they are said to regulate and balance our hormones, to be key for emotional stability and for safeguarding a healthy immune system. B.K.S Iyengar said that they are the “elixir of life”.
This workshop will focus on poses to thoroughly prepare you for inversions, both physically and mentally. It will also include safe ways of getting into and out of poses with composure and the use of props and actions to enhance your stay in head and shoulder stand.
The session is aimed at all levels of Iyengar yoga student with a minimum of one year’s experience.
Note: Women who are menstruating can attend the workshop but cannot practice inversions. Alternative poses will be given and they can participate in the preparation poses.
Sun 19 Jul, 11am-4.30pm with a break for lunch
Session cost: £40 IYISL members, £45 non-members
